"It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life that no man
can sincerely try to help another without helping himself." (R. W.
Emerson)
I am totally energized everyday by the opportunity to support my clients create the lives and business success they want. At an early age, I knew the focus of my life would be people. I watched my father invest in those around him and where ever we went in town, my dad always knew someone there. This approach to life carried forward for him as an ordained minister. I saw him connect with people in a very real way and support them through every conceivable up and down of life. This type of desire to connect was passed down to me and I also chose to serve others as a minister in 1999; however, it took me a little while to figure out how to channel this energy for others into my professional life.
I graduated with a finance degree from the University of Central Florida in 1996. I was an extremely focused college graduate and dove immediately into a software support position for First Data, a global financial service IT company. Success came quickly and by 2000 I was the director of one of the companies largest customer accounts and then Director of Projects for my organization. At this same time, my wife and I opened an arts and crafts business in a growing area of central Florida. The fast and furious pace of life masked the need to really connect with people and make them the primary focal point of my life. However, in 2004, my world was rocked by a divorce and everything I had ever put my energy into came into question. These questions lead me to my first coaching experience with David Silberkleit (www.empowercoach.com). David opened my eyes to what truly moved me and he supported me in shifting my perspective and approach to the work I did everyday. My career didn't change, but the way I connected with people in my work-life changed dramatically... and that made a world of difference.
In 2004, I met my true soul-mate and we were married in 2005. My wife is my best friend, my partner, my advocate and my love. I am more complete by her presence in my life and in 2007 our little Madeline Grace came into this world. This love affair brought me to New Jersey where I landed a role with Western Union as a Project Director. Despite these exciting developments, there still was that strong desire to make the focus of my career people and their growth rather than systems, processes and projects.
I began to revisit my coaching experience four years earlier and after some investigation and soul-searching, I enrolled in Coach University and began my journey as a coach. In January 2007, I founded Brilliance Within with the passion to support successful people to take their success to new levels. I truly LOVE being a coach and watching my clients grow in ways they never could have expected or accomplished on their own.
